Books to Sell On Amazon - How to Determine Which Books Sell

Not every book is worth money.  In fact, the sad truth is that most books aren’t worth the paper they are written on.  In general, non-fiction does much better in the used book world than fiction.  There is, however, a quick way to decide which books to sell on Amazon.

First you’re going to want to go to Amazon’s home page and type in the title or better yet the ISBN number in the search bar.  The ISBN number is found near the bar code.  It will be nine or thirteen digits long.  If your book doesn’t have an ISBN number just, type in the title.

Your book, along with others, will pop up on the next screen.  Click on the book that matches yours.  That will take you to the listing page.  On the listing page you’ll see how many people are selling the same book you are thinking of selling.  There will be people selling new copies, used copies, and collectable copies.  Amazon might be selling the book as well.

As your book will be used, you are mostly concerned with the used sellers.  Before you click on that link, scroll down the page to the product information area.  Here you will see what rank the book has on Amazon.  This is important information.

Not only do you want to determine if you will make any money selling your book, you also need to determine how quickly it will sell.  The Amazon rank of the book isn’t a perfect way to determine this, but it does help.

Amazon has over ten million book titles on its site.  Books are ranked from 1 to 10,000,000.  The lower the number the more popular the book and the faster it will sell.  A book with a rank of 500 will sell within minutes of being listed if priced correctly.  A book with a rank of 4,000,000 might take months to sell.  Keep in mind that ranks can change very quickly.  This does however give you an idea of what to expect and which books to sell on Amazon.

Once you know the rank of the book, scroll back up and click on the link to the used sellers’ page.  This page will show you who is selling the book, what condition their books are in, and how much they are selling the book for.

Amazon lists books from the least expensive to the most expensive.  The price includes the dollar amount the seller is charging for their book and the shipping cost.  Amazon charges a shipping fee of $3.99 to the buyer of a book.  That shipping fee is passed on to the seller along with the seller’s selling price minus all Amazon fees.

If there are people selling the book for $3.99 or less, these are penny sellers.  They are only making a few cents on their book.  It is impossible to compete with them, so don’t try.  Depending on your business model, you’re going to want to make a least a couple dollars of profit after all the fees are subtracted, minus what you paid for the book if anything, you’re your shipping costs.

If the rank is good, you can price a bit higher because the book will sell quickly.  If the rank is over 1,000,000 you want to make sure there is more profit in the book as it will take you longer to sell it.  You don’t need to be, nor should you want to be the lowest priced book.  That is just a race to the bottom and no one wins.

Once you know the rank, how many people are selling the book, and what they are selling it for, you can determine if it is worth your time to list the book.  Only you will know, in the end, which books to sell on Amazon for you business.

How To Sell Books On Amazon

I decided to write this book for people like myself.  I was short on cash and desperately needed to find a way to bring in some extra income.

Unfortunately, I found that most “income opportunities” weren’t much of an opportunity.

I also found out the hard way, that most times there was a list of investments that had to be made before I could begin to make any money.  That didn’t work for me.  I didn’t have any money in the first place.  It was a vicious circle.
So this book is for you.  You being a person that needs to make an extra few $100 dollars a month or more without it costing you anything except some time and a little work.

If you’re looking for a get rich quick scheme to make millions of dollars with no work, this isn’t the book for you. This is just a simple way to get started making money from home.

It’s a real business, and while you can get started without any money, it will take some time and work.  That’s the way of the world.  You either have to have money or time to get ahead.

I have to assume if you’re reading this, then you’ve got the time and not the money.  I also have to assume that you are looking for a real opportunity to make real money from home without having to spend a bunch of money.

I can’t tell you how many “making money opportunities” I have bought over the years.  I didn’t make money with any of them.  Then I stumbled over the idea of selling books on Amazon.  It was the first time I ever saw any return for my hard work.

That’s why I wanted to help you find the joy I have found making money from home.  I don’t have to worry about a bad boss or a bad economy.  I am my own boss.  I work hard, but the reward is mine not someone else’s.

It’s the best life anyone could ask for.

The exciting part was that books started to sell the day I listed them.  That’s right – the very first day.  I was shocked and I wasn’t prepared.  The first two weeks, I sold $409.77 in books and after all fees had $304.62 deposited into my bank account.

That was $304.62 that cost me NOTHING except a little time.  When the first month was over, I had sold $1,174.97 in books and had $898.33 deposited into my checking account.
Personally, I don’t think that’s too darn bad.

This book is a step-by-step guide for anyone who has been wanting to learn how to sell books on Amazon, but has no idea how to go about doing it.  With this guide, you will learn everything you need to know.

Basically, I hold your hand and walk you through every step from finding books for free to sell, to pricing them, to selling and shipping them and getting paid.

This guide has over 30 screen prints and 50 pages to show you exactly what to do when you sell books on Amazon.  It is written in easy to understand language without any jargon that might be confusing.

Just follow the steps and I practically guarantee you will make money.  I did and you can too.

Think about it, do you really want to go to work tomorrow for someone else?  Do you dread Monday mornings and the alarm going off?

I'm not going to promise you untold riches.  I'm just here to show you how to start a business and take your first steps down the road to independence, to never have a boss again or a job you hate.

Work on your own terms, spend more time with your family, be your own boss - sounds too good to be true?  It doesn't have to be.

Then my father passed away.  He and I were very close, and life with him gone just got that much more difficult.  I was miserable.  He had always known just how badly I wanted to work from home for myself.  It may sound silly, but I wanted to find a way to be successful not just for myself but for his memory.

It's crazy, but learning how to sell books on Amazon gave me the success I always dreamed of and he dreamed for me.  I know he would be proud.

Maybe it's time to do it for yourself.  Only you can answer that, but if you follow the steps outlined in the book, I practically guarantee you will make money.  I did and you can too.
